Pidgin (formerly Gaim) is a multi-protocol Instant Messaging client that allows you to use all of your IM accounts at once. Pidgin currently runs on all Windows and UNIX environments. It integrates IM’s such as AIM, IRC, MSN, Bonjour, Yahoo !, XMPP, Gadu-Gadu, QQ, Groupwise, SILC, Zephyr, ICQ and SIMPLE.

Through Pidgin you can login to multiple accounts on multiple IM networks simultaneously. This means that you can be chatting with friends on AIM, talking to a friend on Yahoo Messenger, and sitting in an IRC channel all at the same time.
